Marshals Organization Full Of Community Spirit
Two nights ago, I had the pleasure of meeting more than 20 state marshals and several constables with the Connecticut State Marshals Organization. The event was an awards ceremony to recognize Carl Sporkmann. I was delighted to present the George Ritchie Award to Carl, a Stamford finance professional who has served as the organization’s treasurer, comptroller and all around financial advisor. Carl helped lift the fledgling group to a viable, healthy agency that runs annual fundraisers for charities, in addition to offering training and education.
The members of the Connecticut State Marshals Organization protect our courthouses, transport prisoners, and serve legal documents among other valuable services. These are the kinds of people I meet while traveling the state of Connecticut. I am fortunate to be in a position to get to know these great public servants who contribute to our communities and our state.
I thank the organization’s president, Bob Gyle, for affording me the privilege of presenting the award, and to all the members of the Connecticut State Marshals Organization for their invaluable service.
