Reconnecting

This past weekend we travelled around the state meeting and greeting folks on the campaign trail. We started the day Saturday with a warm reception outside “the Rent” in East Hartford for UCONN’s homecoming game. In the crowd of hundreds was a young couple who met each other while at a WWE event years ago. I came to find out they got married and are celebrating their eighth wedding anniversary. Also in the crowd was a teacher from the Greater Hartford Area, who remembered me from a reading event I volunteered for years ago. It was a pleasure to reconnect.
At East Hartford’s Fall Fest, I met a Boy Scout Troop celebrating its 100th anniversary. They informed me it’s one of the oldest troops in the country.
I also visited the Apple Festival in Glastonbury, where I took photos with friends I’ve met on the campaign trail.
The end of the day was spent in Harwinton at a Harvest Ball to honor John Sullivan — a beautiful event with the backdrop of an early snowfall. John is running for First Selectman.
